UPDATE: Midland Road opens after crash injures two
Two people injured in a Sunday after car accident on Midland Road have been transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries.Effingham County Sheriff's Office spokesman David Ehsanipoor said the female driver of a white Scion attempting a left turn onto Low Ground Road, while traveling south on Midland Road, was hit by a Dodge Dakota.

Asheville man dies in wreck
A Nissan Sentra attempting to turn left onto US 74A from Old Fort Road was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup traveling west on US 74A. The pickup then veered into the eastbound US 74A traffic striking a Toyota Scion head on. The driver of the Scion died at the scene.
